Season 2

Season 2 is the second and final season of The InBESTigators. It aired on ABC Me between November 11 and November 30, 2019, being released on Netflix worldwide on January 10, 2020, and consists of 20 episodes.

Writing for the 20 episodes of the season began in 2017, along with the first season. Production for the season began in July 2018 at Moorabbin Primary School located in Melbourne, along with the first season. Filiming wrapped in November 2018. On August 12, 2019, it was officially announced that a second season would come soon. The second season was officially announced on October 14, 2019 on YouTube to premiere on ABC Me on November 11, 2019. In December 2019, it was offiicially announced the global release date on Netflix from the season for January 10, 2020. Like the previous season, the episodes were divided into 10 episodes that contains 2 segments each one.

Season Summary

Season 2
This summary contains spoilers of the episodes of the respective season.
The Case of the Concert Catastrophe: Maudie, along with Ava, Pixie, Max and their father, Brian, prepare to go to a concert by a band called The January Valentines. However, everything seems to go wrong when the tickets go away. Max turns out to be guilty because of her fear of crowding (that is, large group of people). The Case of the Soccer Saga: Maudie and Ava will help Kyle record a video of scenes of himself during Team A's match against Team B, however, Maudie realizes that there is something wrong when Evan, a very bad football player, proves to be doing well during the entire match. She finds out that Evan is actually Owen, Evan's twin brother, and that the real Evan was disguised as Owen, since Kyle always says that Evan is not so good at football because he always compared the two to themselves. The Case of the Puzzling Pet Day: The Animal Shelter visits the school to film a commercial with fifth graders and their pets. However, Maudie suspects that a crime is happening under everyone's noses when she sees Miranda doing well in her speech about her greyhound, Cookie, since the speech is similar to Amelia's, who uses it to describe her greyhound , Loopy, and then she finally concludes that Cookie is actually the greyhound of Miranda's neighbors. The Case of the Copy Cat: Ava prepares herself to make a speech at the town hall of how she would change the world, but everything gets worng when a girl named Savannah acuses Ava of stealing "her" speech. As a way to prove her innocence, Ava discovers that the crime was it's actually all the other way around: Savannah stole Ava's speech to pretend that it was hers because she developed jealous of Ava's popularity during the meetings. The Case of the Rosemary Riddle: Everything at the agency gets wrong for Ezra when his nana vists him and began to interrupt every meeting at granny flat, leting him more upset. So, she decides to give the inbestigators a riddle to solve at the market. The Case of the Robot Robbery: During Science and Technology Day, Patrick O'Leary, a sixth grader who doesn't know how to dress up, asks Ezra, Maudie, Ava and Kyle to help him find his robot costume that was caught by a student dressed as a mad professor. After finding it in the Out of Bounds area, Maudie begins to think that it was Duncan, a student in the same room as Patrick, because he was the only one who was jealous of the costume and also because he wore red sneakers, and that was proven when Maudie placed Ava's Marie Curie necklace on top of Duncan's pocket, which stuck because he had kept Patrick's costume magnets in his pocket.

Trivia

• The first episode of the season confirmed in production was "The Case of the Distracted Detective", occurred in November 2018.
• This is the first season where Tim Bartley stars as a director.
• "The Case of the Unhappy Camper" was the only episode of the season where the case report doesn't occur in the Granny Flat.
• This is the first season where features people being accused of crimes they did not commit, these victims being Ava Andrikides, Gary, Amelia Fitzgerald and Kyle Klimson.

• It also follows some changes of case reports in this season:
  • This is the first season where Ezra reports the cases along with Maudie, and also the first time where he records only with Ava.

• On this season, it follows changes on Kyle's personality:
  • Kyle shows again his comparator personality with the twins Evan and Owen, which leads him to insult Evan because he is not good at soccer and Owen is the opposite.
  • Kyle began to develop his rude personality in the episodes "The Case of the Freaky Frequency" and "The Case of the Unhappy Camper".
  • Kyle finally proves to everyone that he is good at maths, which proves that the motive of Kyle not being good at maths is because he gets distracted.
  • Kyle also proves to be a prankster in the Grade 5 Camp, and also to be very mean with Archie and Ezra.
  • Kyle is also a defender to his friends, including Gary and Ezra Banks.
  • Kyle shows more focused if someone tells it in sports language or if the cases would end with jam donuts.
